Noah Schultz To Make MLB Debut For White Sox
CHICAGO, Ill. - Noah Schultz will make his highly anticipated debut in Major League Baseball this week, as the Chicago White Sox have officially named Schultz the starter for Tuesday, April 14th's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Rate Field in Chicago.
Schultz, originally from Naperville, Illinois, spent the 2022 summer with the Pistol Shrimp. He appeared in 6 games and recorded a 0.93 ERA in 19.1 innings with 37 strikeouts and a 0.78 WHIP. That same summer, he was drafted 26th overall by the Chicago White Sox.
According to MLB.com, Schultz is the #2 prospect in the White Sox system and their #1 pitching prospect. He is also the #46 ranked prospect in all of baseball.
In four minor league seasons, Schultz has a sparkling 2.94 ERA with 248 strikeouts to just 77 walks in 202.1 innings pitched. He has spent the beginning of the 2026 season with the Charlotte Knights, the White Sox's Triple-A affiliate. In Triple-A this season, he has recorded a 1.29 ERA with 19 strikeouts and a 3-0 record in 3 games and 2 starts.
Schultz will be the first Pistol Shrimp alum to appear in a Major League Baseball game. Founded in 2019, the Pistol Shrimp have had 10 draft picks over their 7-year history, including the first-round selection of Schultz in 2022.
